Nine Stars of Matariki - Ngā Whetū e Iwa o Matariki 2022
Touch Compass has prepared an interactive, fun and inclusive offering for schools to celebrate Matariki:
Ngā Whetū e Iwa o Matariki
The Nine Stars of Matariki
What are we inviting you to do?
We invite schools to participate and connect with the essence of Matariki by engaging, playing, exploring and finding their own creative version of the nine stars and their movements.
You create your own version of the dance, film it (however you want to, mobile phone videos just fine!) and share that creation with us at Touch Compass. We'll compile these for a virtual showcase at the end of July where you and the other schools involved can connect and share the experience, hosted by the Touch Compass Artistic Direction Panel.
Virtual sharing showcase
On 25 July, Touch Compass will host a live session where the films from participating schools will be uploaded to our Touch Compass YouTube channel to be shared with your friends, whānau and communities. Through this you'll celebrate your own films and get to see and share in the experience of others.
Participation in our online showcase is not mandatory.
There is no cost - this is a koha-only event!
Registration closes on the 16th of June.
